Advocate Health Care changed it's contract with United Health Care of Illinois

Advocate Health Care and United Health Care have decided not to renew its contract with each other as of December 31, 2003. United Health Care's policies conflict with Advocates commitment with its physicians and the quality of patient care. Current contracts are in effect until December 31, 2003. United Health Care patients can continue to receive in-network coverage for care provided by Advocate hospitals until that time. As for MidAmerica Cardiovascular physicians, we will continue to hold our contract with United Health Care. As of January 1, 2004, Advocate hospitals will be considered out-of network and patients will have reduced coverage for services. MidAmerica Cardiovascular physicians do provide hospital treatment at Little Company of Mary and St. James Hospital.
